A Catch Up Post

When I started this blog I had every intention of writing every few days but I soon realized that I wouldn't be able to keep up the pace! So you may find me writing more of these catch up posts.

So in the last week or so we've been spending lots of time outside since the weather has been so nice. Nate has discovered street hockey and he is getting really good! He can hit the puck much harder than I can and his aim is really improving!! We had been hoping to avoid having a hockey player in the family... we enjoy spending our weekends around home, not on road trips to tournaments but I have a feeling we may not be able to convince him!

Sophie is soooo close to crawling. Right now she pulls her body along and she is quick. We are going to have be extra careful of leaving things around. The boys are under strict instructions to pick up all their toys at the end of day, so far they just throw them under the couch but I am sure they'll get better soon!

We had Thomas' birthday party on the 26th. We had 18 kids (and a few extra siblings) and it was awesome! We rented out a local daycare and were able to use their gym and kitchen. We played some tried and true party games - dodgeball, freeze dance, musical chairs and stormy seas and most everyone was able to keep up. We had a few bumped knees but nothing that kept anyone out of the games. We had pizza and cake for lunch and the kids just free played for the rest of the time. This was our first party that parents left their kids and it was intereting to say the least. We had 1 time out, one bumped head and tooth that almost fell out - it had been loose when she arrived but a bump during dodgeball finished off! The little girl was pleased so it was OK.

We then had the Martins over for a combined family party for Thomas and Lauren's birthday. Lauren turns 8 on April 29th. I can't believe how time flies. I remember the day Lauren was born like it was yesterday - she was born the day after Anthony proposed to me!! : ) She was the first newborn baby I had held and I was terrified! Little did I know that less than 2 years later I would be holding my own little baby : )

Thomas started Hip Hop dance last weekend. They are learning a routine and at the end of the class they show the parents what they've been practicing. He's been practicing some of the moves called criss cross, b boy, attitude and one other that I can't remember the name of right now but he loves it. The class has 7 boys and 5 girls so he feels right at home.
